4.11.25 // Running Injury and Identity

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how injury can unravel our routines and sense of self. This one’s for the runners who know that feeling all too well...

There’s nothing like a running injury, niggle, or persistent ache to make me feel off balance.

Without external miles being covered, the mental miles feel endless.
Without summits, what am I looking at?

Injury asks me to move differently, gently... to notice the parts of me I’ve ignored in pursuit of forward motion.

It’s humbling. It’s frustrating. And maybe, it’s necessary.

So this is your reminder, runner: do the small things before they become big things.
Strengthen what’s quiet. Stretch what’s tight. Rest before you’re forced to.

Not because you’re broken, but because you love this, and you want to keep loving it.
