10.14.25 // Fall 2024

This is me.
.
As we move into the final quarter of the year and summer slips into fall, I’m taking a pause to take stock of what’s going on in my life, my head, and my heart.
.
My 2 mantras:
1- “Show up as you are.” Full credit to Lucinda for this one. It’s a reminder that I don’t have to be anything more or less. I get to just show up. Showing up as myself, in whatever headspace I’m in. While vulnerable, it's also incredibly powerful.
2- Learn through love." I had my birthday tarot card shared with me last week, and this was the theme. It felt like a reminder to share love freely, without doubt or fear.
.
My 3 favorite foods:
1- Coconut Cake from Deru. I can’t stop obsessing over this cake. It’s revived my love of dessert after years in the graveyard of “nothing hits the spot” (except dark chocolate).
2- Kale. Tried and true for the last decade, but lately I’ve been adding more dino kale to the mix. I used to be a curly kale purist, and it’s been delightful.
3- Kari Kari chili crisp. I hate how much I love this stuff. The quantity I eat can’t be good for me. But if we ever meet in person, remind me to tell you the story about how the first thing I ate after a colonoscopy was, unintentionally, chili oil.
.
My 3 "concerns:"
1- Staying bright through the impending darkness of Seattle winter.
2- Navigating David’s new job in Boston, splitting time between there and Seattle, and figuring out how to support and adapt while finding our next steps.
3- Career flux. Holding it with an open hand, but still motivated for movement.
.
My 3 favorite songs (my Spotify is linked!):
1- Skipping Down the Sidewalk — Amelia Day. Just a feel-good song.
2- When the Love is Gone — Anna Graves. Belt it out in your car and feel all the feels.
3- Steal My Thunder — Conner Smith. Pure country that feels like home in Tennessee. Also, the first line dance I learned!
.
My favorite trail run of the last quarter: Catching what I’m calling the last perfect weather window at Mount Rainier. It was sunny and gorgeous and one of the most enjoyable run days I’ve had in months.
.
This next quarter is going to be different, I can feel it. The winds of change are coming...
